Work of the WLGA

The Association is active in the following areas of economic development and regeneration:

• Business Support
• Communities First
• European Structural Funds
• Procurement
• Rural Development
• Social Enterprise
• State Aids
• Tourism

The Association organises and supports a Regeneration Officers Network which brings together officers from all local authorities to discuss key issues and share experiences twice a year. We also work closely with our Directors of Regeneration Steering Group which provides advice and direction to our regeneration work.
The Association produces a quarterly Regeneration Bulletin for all local authorities with updates on key policy, funding and legislative developments.
We also arrange annual meetings of Lead Local Authority Regeneration Cabinet Members. We also arrange quarterly meetings with Welsh Assembly Government Ministers.
