Procurement support to Welsh local authorities was previously provided through the Welsh Local Government Procurement Support Unit. Within the context of “Making the Connections”, the Assembly Government’s vision for joint working between public sector organisations in Wales, the Unit has merged with its sister organisation, the Welsh Procurement Initiative Team, to form Value Wales (Procurement), to provide procurement support and instigate improvement across the public sector.
Value Wales (Procurement)’s principle services include advice, guidance and support on best practice. It also undertakes a role in negotiating all-Wales contracts in key areas and leads national initiatives where centralised co-ordination will deliver benefits.
