The WLGA has set up links with all 22 local authorities interested in energy, utilities supplies and sustainability matters through various groups. These include the CLAW Energy Managers Group (covering public buildings), The Welsh HECA Forum (for housing energy efficiency and fuel poverty), CEERW (Consortium for Energy Efficiency in Rural Wales) and the Sustainable Development Co-ordinators Cymru forum.
The WLGA is taking an active part in the development of the All Wales Utilities Group set up in September 2004. The aim of the group is to assist all government funded bodies in Wales, including LA’s, the NHS, police and fire authorities and higher education establishments, to obtain the best deals possible from energy and water suppliers.
The WLGA continues to develop these networks and promote the benefits of energy efficiency.
