SSIA

SSIA

The SSIA was officially launched during the Social Services Summit during March 2006.

It was set up to support local authorities increase the pace of improvement and promote excellence within social services. Hosted by the Welsh Local Government Association (WLGA) the Agency is a partnership enterprise between the Association, ADSS Cymru and the Welsh Assembly Government. The Agency comprises a central team based in Cardiff, along with improvement managers, focused on Social Services improvement across Wales.

The SSIA Business Plan for 2011-12 builds on a track record of supporting step change in Welsh Social Services over the past 4 years and contains a far-reaching work programme built around 4 key themes:

Each includes a set of focused workstreams which, delivered in partnership, are designed to bring about major changes in the way services are planned, commissioned and delivered across Wales.
