In December 2009 the Deputy Minister for Housing and Regeneration commissioned an independent review of housing related support in Wales and appointed Sir Mansel Aylward to lead the review. The WLGA, together with CHC, Cymorth and the Local Authority Supporting People Information Network (SPIN) formed a stakeholder advisory group and met with the review team on a monthly basis.
The review and recommondations were published in October 2010 and approved by the Deputy Minister for Housing and Regeneration and the Cabinet. The implementation of the recommendations is being taken forward by a steering group consisting of the key stakeholders and three workstreams; Quality Services, Governance and Regulation and Finance.
