Wrexham Leader crowned Councillor of the Year

Leader of Wrexham, Cllr Aled Roberts was named ‘Councillor of the Year’ at the ITV Wales Politician of the Year Awards held in Cardiff last night.

Congratulating Cllr Roberts on his award, Steve Thomas, WLGA Chief Executive said:

“On behalf of the Association I would like to warmly congratulate Aled on his well-deserved award. Aled is an excellent ambassador for local government in Wales, not only for the valuable work he carries out within Wrexham but for his substantial contribution to the work of the WLGA, particularly as Housing Spokesperson. He has also been an influential player in the cross-party consensus that characterises the WLGA”

“Councils are not always the most glamorous of organisations yet they are the ones that get things done, providing hundreds of vital everyday services to their communities. I am pleased that ITV Wales continues to recognise the significant role that councillors play in society.”
