WLGA and ADSS Cymru Joint Conference
21st-22nd June 2011, Millennium Stadium, Cardiff
Professional and political leaders from across the public, private and independent sectors will meet in Cardiff next week to present their visions for the future delivery of social services in Wales post election.
In a climate driven by tight budgets and serious pressures on the profession to meet growing need, delegates through honest questioning and constructive debate will explore the range of difficult challenges facing the profession, from maintaining service levels and addressing capacity issues to enhancing the social care experience for users.
Speaking at her first major social services conference since re-election, Gwenda Thomas, AM, Deputy Minister for Children and Social Services will present the Welsh Government’s priorities for addressing these challenges.
During the event a number of key note speakers will share their views for advancing the social services improvement agenda in Wales across a number of cross cutting themes.
