Ensuring that older people have active, independent and secure lives is an essential part of a fair and equitable society. Older people should be involved and engaged in the planning of services to ensure that they are based around the things older people want and need. Good quality health, social care, education and other services need to be fully accessible and there should be no barriers to allowing older people access to the full range of facilities, goods and services that everyone expects.
