Local Service Boards (LSB) are non-statutory partnerships across the 22 local authority areas in Wales. They were set up in response to the Beecham Review’s observations that local public services in Wales faced three major barriers in terms of delivering citizen centred services: culture, complexity and capacity. LSBs seek to work across organizational boundaries, pooling capacity and expertise and tackling blockages in the system.
The membership, structure and approach of LSBs vary across Wales, but all have the key leaders and chief executives of the major public service providers in the area.
