As well as providing feedback on the public consultation exercise, including a list of recommendations the report also reflects upon both quantitative and qualitative data in addition to historical anecdotal evidence to highlight the current situation in relation to equality issues raised by users and non-users of Blaenau Gwent Sport Centres.

Cardiff Council: Equality Champions
Cardiff Council has a network of volunteer Equality Champions who aim to make the local authority a beacon for good equality practice nation-wide. People from a wide variety of service areas and professional backgrounds are involved and can take on a range of activities. The benefits they receive as Equality Champions include pride, making a difference in their own workplace, networking, meeting people from other service and gaining a new perspective and training which can aid in their professional development. The network's achievements to date include helping introduce a new, more inclusive membership enrolment scheme within the Library Service, improving access to accessible toilets in public places and carrying out equality impact assessments to scrutinise policies and make them inclusive and fair for all.
