Lifelong Learning, Culture & Information

Lifelong learningThe WLGA Lifelong Learning, Leisure and Information Team leads on a wide range of policy issues, such as education, childrens issues, youth services, skills, culture, sport and the Welsh language. The team also hosts a number of WAG funded programmes including the 21st Century Schools Team, the Appetite for Life Coordinator, the School Transport Project Coordinator and the National Exercise Referral Scheme.

The WLGA works closely with local authorities and professional networks, such as the Association of the Directors of Education in Wales (ADEW), the Principle Youth Officers Group (PYOG) and the Chief Leisure Officer’s Group. ADEW also has a number of sub-groups dealing with a range of education and children’s services issues, a full list of these groups can be found at the ADEW website.
