The Beacon Council Scheme

The Beacon council scheme identifies excellence and innovation in local government in England. The scheme exists to share good practice so that best value authorities can learn from each other and deliver high quality services to all.

Charter Mark

The Charter Mark scheme is a tool designed to help organisations focus on, and improve, their customer service and delivery to users.

Personal and Organisational Achievement Awards

The awards recognise individuals who have achieved a standard of excellence through the completion of an ILM Qualification and the work of trainers, centres and employers, who have implemented programmes to develop the leadership and management skills of their people.

Local Government Chronicle Awards

The awards give councils the opportunity to highlight, and celebrate, their successes.

Local Government Employee of the Year Award

The award is for the front line employee who goes over and above the call of duty for the good of their community.

Municipal Journal Local Government Achievement Awards

Categories cover the key services and themes across local government. Each will be judged by an expert panel and is sponsored by a major public or private sector organisation.

Pay Awards

This award recognises the contribution made by an individual in advancing the payroll profession.

People Management Award

The award recognises that people are at the heart of every business and directs a spotlight on the vital contribution people make to the overall performance and profitability of an organisation.
