20 - 21 October 2008
Holland House Hotel, CardiffOur Economy – Strong, prosperous and vibrant communities
These National Open Days offer the rare opportunity to share the good practice that the Local Authorities, Fire & Rescue Service, Police and the National Parks were commended for having received Excellence Wales status under this theme for 2007/2008.
The event will be formally opened by the Minister / Deputy Minister. This is a two day event that will include a series of presentations and interactive workshops and exhibits.
Local Authorities and the wider local government family of the Police, National Parks and Fire & Rescue Service help deliver economic development and improved prosperity to local areas. Vibrant sustainable and safe communities are essential building blocks which require clear co-ordinated action from a range of partners who engage with communities themselves.
These Services have a clear community leadership role to play in this process and crucially to the regeneration and renewal of communities - from physical improvements to the training and development of people.
This two day National Open Day will:
- Provide practical tips for service improvement
- Include presentations and question and answer sessions on successful approaches
- Provide opportunities to network and share experiences
- Provide information on improvement initiatives
- Provide national and local government perspectives
