This publication is a guide for Welsh local authorities interested in EU funding. It aims to provide an overview of how the EU budget is structured for the seven years between 2007 and 2013, as well as demonstrating how it is broken down into the various programmes.
Each section attempts to give sufficient information to enable readers to get an understanding of the main elements of the respective programmes. Links are provided to sources of more detailed information, for example calls for projects and details of the application process. The Application processes vary for different EU funds - sometimes the submission of the proposal goes directly to the European Commission, while in other cases European, national or regional authorities are responsible for the management of programmes.
In addition to the guide, the WLGA office in Brussels provides a dedicated resource for the Association and its member authorities on European issues and promotes the role of Welsh local government in European affairs.
