The Committee on Climate Change recently advised the UK Government that the UK should be aiming to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by at least 80% below 1990 levels. This is more challenging than the previous requirement of a 60% reduction as outlined in the 2003 Energy White Paper (Department of Trade and Industry).
