Efficiency and Innovation Board

Efficiency and Innovation BoardThe Assembly Government established an Efficiency and Innovation Programme Board in early 2010. The Board has been set up to provide practical leadership and action through an Efficiency and Innovation Programme focusing on delivering efficiencies and service improvements in Wales’ public services.

The Board will meet every 6-8 weeks and is chaired by the Minister for Business and Budget, Jane Hutt AM. The Board includes representatives from a range of public services and sectors, and includes the WLGA Spokesperson for Improvement Cllr Russell Roberts and WLGA Chief Executive Steve Thomas. The WLGA representatives ensure an ongoing link with the WLGA Improvement Board.

Local government is committed to supporting the programme board and delivering innovation and improvements. 6 out of the 7 programme workstreams are chaired by local government representatives, and the WLGA’s Improvement Services are working towards delivering priorities and supporting emerging projects.
