The WLGA European Office regularly receives partner search enquiries from our colleagues across Europe. These enquiries involve a whole range of policy areas, such as education, culture, health, research and innovation. Listed below are the latest partner search enquiries, which may be of interest to local authorities in Wales. Project title: ICT and Skills & Employment Partner Searches

Description: Suffolk County Council would like to work with local authorities and relevant organisations on two projects:
- Community owned broadband in rural communities project: to provide community owned broadband infrastructure in areas where mainstream providers will not provide such infrastructure due to perceived market failure. Further information may be found here (Word document).

Project title: 'Utilising Open Source in the Public Sector'

Description: Stevenage Borough Council would like to find partners to work on an Interreg project involving the use of Open Source technology in the public sector. Description: The University of Vaasa, in partnership with Vaasa Engineering Ltd, would like to find partners interested in two calls within FP7 Energy, 'Energy storage systems for power distribution networks', and 'Large-scale demonstration of smart electricity distribution networks with distributed generation and active customer participation'. The University is particularly interested in projects that develop new concepts and solutions relating to the use of energy storages in hybrid power plants, and involve energy sources such as wind power. Description: The London Borough of Ealing is looking for partners for a European Refugee Fund project to address the mental health needs of refugees and asylum seekers. The project focuses on the damaging effects of Khat, a natural plant which has a similar effect to ecstasy, on Somali, Yemeni and Ethiopian refugees. Ealing is looking for partners that face similar issues, work with Yemeni, Somali communities, and work with refugees suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. Description: The London Borough of Southwark is searching for partners from Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) or public organisations to collaborate in a project combating domestic and dating violence using funding from the EU DAPHNE III Programme. Description: The European Social Forum of Cyprus (ESFC) would like to find partners to participate in a network project. The ESFC would like to establish a pilot network of health coordinators, trainers, carers, assistant nurses and regulators. The main aims of the project are to improve the skill levels of health sector workers at all levels, focus on the cross-border mobility of health workers, and creating a European Charter to include the different national employment laws and the duties of assistant nurses and carers.
