The Committee of the Regions (CoR) has established an automotive crisis intergroup. The group, representing 45 regions across Europe, will meet during CoR Plenary Sessions, and will look at issues concerning the crisis in the automotive sector. The group is led by President Jean-Yves Le Drian from the Brittany region, and includes WLGA CoR Member Cllr Bob Bright. Further information on the group may be found here.

2010
The CoR adopted an own-initiative opinion on the automotive crisis during the Plenary session on 10 February 2010. The opinion, under the rapporteurship of President Le Drian, calls for a European 'New Deal' for the automotive sector, and the set-up of a European-level dialogue between all relevant stakeholders.
