Examples of projects for newly arrived international migrants in Wales

The purpose of providing case study examples of work that is focused on economic migrants in local authority areas is to;

  • Share information and expertise amongst LA officers and staff on what the key issues are in developing projects for economic migrants;
  • Highlight key learning outcomes both positive and negative on working on projects;
  • Encourage a cross fertilisation of ideas and knowledge to improve project development in this area;
  • Raise awareness of the work that is being undertaken amongst policy makers to inform strategic planning, needs assessment and funding priorities.

Distribution

The case study project examples will be circulated as an addition to the WLGA migration bulletin,this bulletin is also sent to a database of organisations and individuals from:

  • The 22 local authorities in Wales
  • Local Government Association in England and Scotland
  • Local health boards
  • Police
  • Local and national voluntary sector organisations
  • UK Borders Agency
  • The Welsh Assembly Government
  • Race equality councils
  • The equality and human rights commission
  • Trade unions.
