In February 2010 the Welsh Local Government Association (WLGA) commissioned M•E•L to carry out monitoring of food waste collections in Carmarthenshire County Council, Denbighshire County Council and Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council. The primary aim of the project is to effectively demonstrate the cost saving of conducting on-going monitoring of services and using these results gathered to target non-participants with effective communications campaigns, resulting in an increased usage of the food waste services.
